6/26/2004 07:50:39 to 6/28 08:37:07. Our ISP oopsed on a firewall that affected all HTTP access to our site. Sigh :<
6/19/2004 12:36:48. Fixed linkage errors to my FTP server. Sorry for the oversight. Sometimes security can cause problems.
5/17/2004 12:39:10 to 5/18/2004 12:49:00. Our ISP had mountain repeater problems. When they got the repeater back up, there was some problem with the routing of WWW traffic to our box that they couldn't get resolved till today. Sigh.
4/11/2004 13:41:51 to 16:52:27 approx. Our ISP was down again. Sigh.
4/8/2004 12:20:00 to 15:50:00 approx. Our ISP had a problem on their mountain tower which killed our access.
3/18/2004 12:06:00 Qwest had a line problem that knocked out access to our site.
3/7/2004 20:43:00 Repaired a major problem with cross reference links in Bible searches to the major references. The highlight program wasn't playing well with perl, so I converted it to a pure perl operation. You should get properly highlighted text again. Sorry for the problem.
2/25/2004 09:00:00 Our ISP reworked the antenna system they had provided for considerably less loss and went to a higher power radio card, so the system has been much more responsive for us. Hope you like the changes as much as I do.
1/30/2004 20:13:11 to 23:18:35 - Our ISP had the network down once again for unknown reasons.
1/26/2004 01:35 to 08:37 - Site crashed under load from Xandon Webspider - now banished from the site.
1/18/2004 12:06 to 14:20 - O/S swap on server.
1/7/2004 14:51 Down for 1 hour while antenna pointed toward different tower, readdressing, etcetera. Most of the time was on my side.
12/12/2003 07:44 Down for 15 minutes for RAM installation, CPU fan replacement and general cleaning.
11/22/2003 09:23 Our ISP was down for a little over 1 hour.
11/9/2003 00:10 A script I moved over prevented the web server from restarting at midnight. Sigh :( Should be up and running again this morning.
8/29/2003 11:30 And if that weren't bad enough, Qwest had a major line cut in Cheyenne, WY at around 11:30 on 8/29 so it's been a bit of a nightmare.
8/28/2003 13:11 till 8/29 08:35 was due to an equipment changeout at the radio tower by our friends www.alluretech.net. They were notified of the problem by 14:11 but still took till the next day to swap the old equipment back so they could figure out what was wrong with the new equipment. Argh!
8/20-22/2003, The infection rate on the M$ computers on our ISP's network was high, bogging down access to our site.
8/19/2003, Our ISP, worried about hacking activity from China, decided to shut down all incoming HTTP traffic on or about 14:25. Unbelievable. They were unavailable for comment that night, and didn't respond to e-mails. Even after phone calls on 8/20, it took them until about 14:25 (or almost 24 hours) before we had access again. Unreal. If you can't get through for an extended period again, please try to use https://www.awmach.org. That mirrors our normal primary web site and was available even though http was shut down by the ISP.
8/2003, I've been experimenting off and on with trying to improve the wireless speed. I bought an upgraded card and it is now running in the router which helped a bit. I've tried moving it to a faster box, but the PCI bus is giving problems with the PCMCIA interface. Experiments continue with occasional brief downtimes.
5/31/2003, Our ISP swapped out an antenna on the tower covering our part of town on 5/28/2003 and after repeated voice mails and e-mails finally got us back on line today. They should have a new antenna up next Wednesday. Also Qwest has been working on their T1 lines, so they have been up and down due to that as well.
3/06/2003, Extended power failure in our part of town - approximately 14:01:26 to 17:10:04.
2/23/2003, ISP was down starting approximately 00:25:47 to 09:07:14 - please direct comments to www.alluretech.com.
1/9/2003, Cat had an accident on the radio interface box keyboard - down for clean up and reboot.
12/8/2002, ISP was down starting approximately 12:10 MST and continuing for hours - please direct comments to www.alluretech.com.
9/11/2002, to anonymous user who mentioned problem with Genesis 24:40 link in Darby Bible - your page got garbled along the way to your system - the pages work properly locally.
8/24/2002, reboot for O/S patches - downtime minimal.
8/12-14/2002, problems with task manager at midnight - downtime till I spotted the problems in the morning. Resolved.
Sorry for the downtime from the 28/May to 31/May - an electrical storm glitched one of our switches and it wasn't noticed for a while as I was out of town. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Sun 2/11/2001, ISP had problems - estimated downtime around 3 3/4 hours.
Mon 1/1/2001, ISP had problems - estimated downtime around 30 minutes.
Tue 12/19/2000, Mercator bashed one of our CGI scripts multiple times and swamped the system. The problem caused by that naughty robot has been fixed to prevent future reduced availability due to badly formed queries.
Fri 11/24/2000, Latest release of operating system installed.
Thu 9/21/2000, Down briefly for security enhancements. Our incoming FTP site has been temporarily closed. If you need to download something to us, use the feedback form to let us know and we will coordinate a time with you. Continue to pray for us. God is a better securer and protector than anything we could buy.
Fri 8/24/2000, 0751 I increased the streams allocation on the server to handle larger block transfers.
Thu 8/17/2000, 0747 Our ISP lost a bridge network on the wireless node serving our part of the city last night at approximately 2015. Since the tower was on private property, they had to stop working in the late evening, and weren't able to get the equipment replaced until this morning. We trust the problems are now resolved, and that they will be considering the desirability of warm standby equipment at their remote nodes.
